1 hour "assessment" with the student and parent
and personalized learning roadmap
Assessment: Parents or Guardians, and the student will meet with Karen at a local library or other public place. Through discussion with Parent and child ( Karen will bring age appropriate books and tools) Karen will assess where the child is in their reading and fluency skills.
Learning Roadmap: Karen will develop a loose outline and suggest what the major focus will be when the child moves forward with tutoring.
Option #2 $70
1 hour "assessment" & Learning Roadmap with the student and parent
Plus 1 customized tutoring session with the student (This will be at a mutually agreed upon time - separate from the initial assessment)
Session time 45 minutes to 60 minutes
Recommended that the parent stays in the library or other meeting spot as this makes it more comfortable for the student.
Option #3 $105
1 hour "assessment" with the student and parent & Learning Roadmap
Plus 3 customized follow up tutoring session with the student
Each session will be set for a mutually agreed upon date.
Session time 45 minutes to 60 minutes
Recommended that the parent stays in the library or other meeting spot as this makes it more comfortable for the student.
Topics for Focus
1rst - 3rd Graders
Phonetics awareness, sight words, and basic decoding. Basic spelling rules,Vowel combinations, and expressive reading.
3rd - 5th Graders
Reading speed and appropriate comma and period pause, expression, and comprehension. Continue mastering vowel combinations and other spelling exceptions.
Session pricing can be customized and adjusted to fit the particular needs of the child. For instance if you want the child to have weekly sessions for a whole month, the whole summer, etc.
